Deputies responded to 28000

 Block of Worth on an assault with a deadly weapon report. Upon arrival Victim Sullivan advised deputies that he had been assault by suspect Albert Mata with a pipe, which was confirmed by witness at the scene.  Victim refused medical treatment at the scene.  Deputies located and arrested Mata a short time later.

Officer involved shooting investigation

UPDATE 9-11-11:
The suspect has been released from the hospital and transported to the Tulare County Sheriff's Office Adult Pre-Trial Facility.  Marwin McDarment, age 33 of Porterville, was booked into the County Jail with charges of attempted homicide, brandishing weapon, convicted felon in possession of firearm, possession of a controlled substance and has a Parole Hold.

UDATE:
On 09-09-11 at approximately 1530 hours the Sheriff's Office received a call of a man with a gun in the area of the 500 block of Reservation Road.   Two Deputies responded to the area and the suspect was no longer on scene.  Deputies were provided a vehicle description the suspect was last scene in.  Deputies checked the area and located the vehicle parked on Reservation Road West of Success Valley Drive.  The deputies attempted to contact the driver and the driver began shooting at the deputies. Both parties exchanged fire.  During the shooting an officer from the Tule Indian Reservation Department of Public Safety arrived and also engaged the suspect.  No officer's were injured

The suspect was injured.  The suspect ceased fire, was taken into custody and transported by air to an area hospital.  He is in stable stable condition with non-lifet hreatening injuries.

Per normal protocal, the Deputies were placed on Administrative Leave during the investigation. 

The suspect a male adult, age 33 from the Porterville area.  The suspect name is not being released at this time.

After an approximate Three (3) week investigation into illegal narcotics trafficking in the unincorporated town of Goshen, Ca., investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments Narcotic Task Force served a search warrant in the 30700 blk of Rd 68. The focus of the investigation was Liza Marquez Gomez and Rogelio Mendoza. The ensuing investigation and search revealed approximately 3 grams of ICE ( Methamphetamine) packaged for sales, 4.8 grams of Ephedrine,  indicia related to the sales of illegal narcotics and scales. It was also determined that Marquez Gomez and Mendoza were maintaining a place for the sales of narcotics.
Marquez Gomez was transported and booked at the Sheriffs Department’s Bob Wiley Detention Facility and Mendoza was booked at the Tulare County Main Jail on the listed charges Marquez Gomez is being held in lieu of $35,000.00 bail and Mendoza is being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail.

On 9/8/11 the Tulare County Sheriff's Department was contacted by Porterville Police Department in regards to a fraudulent credit card use that had occurred in the city of Porterville. Through investigation it was determined the credit card had been stolen from a vehicle in the city of Strathmore and the suspect was identified as Luis Barrientos. Tulare County Sheriff's Department Detectives and Porterville Police Department Detectives arrived at Barrientos' residence in Strathmore. He was detained on (5) active warrants and it was discovered he was on felony probation. A search of Barrientos' residence revealed numerous identification cards, Ca driver's licenses, credit cards and checks that belonged to several different people. After further investigation Detectives were able to locate the owners of several of those items and determined they were stolen from vehicles in city and county areas (four from county areas and one from the city of Porterville). Barrientos was arrested on four counts of vehicle burglary by Tulare County Sheriff's Department. One count of vehicle burglary, one count of fraudulent credit card use, and one count of possession of methamphetamine by Porterville PD and the five active warrants. He was booked at the Porterville Substation.

Two in custody on theft charges

08/26/11, a Tulare County Sheriff Deputy responded to the 30000 block of Hamilton Dr., Exeter, regarding the fraudulent use of an access card.  Upon arrival, the Deputy learned that Jessica Andrade and Nikki Fox of Visalia took this card and used it without authorization.  The Deputy located both women and recovered the stolen card. 

 

08/30/11, the same victim in this case reported to a Tulare County Sheriff Detective that she recently discovered that Jessica Andrade and Nikki Fox had taken over $10,000 worth of her jewelry from her home and sold it to a local Visalia Jewelry Store.  The jewelry in question was located and recovered at the Visalia Jewelry Store. 

 

Jessica Andrade and Nikki Fox were located on 09/07/11 and arrested for the selling of the stolen jewelry.  They were booked at the Tulare County Bob Wiley Detention Facility.  Andrade is being held on bail in the amount of $20,000.  Fox was found to have three misdemeanor arrest warrants and is being held on bail in the total amount of $100,000.

 

This Case is still being investigated by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department.

After an approximate one (1) month investigation into illegal narcotics trafficking in the unincorporated town of Poplar investigators from the Sheriff’s Departments Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Unit served a search warrant in the 19600 blk of Ave 132. The focus of the investigation was Sergio Barragan Anaya. The ensuing investigation and search revealed approximately 7.1 grams of ICE ( Methamphetamine) packaged for sales, indicia related to the sales of illegal narcotics as well as the transportation of a controlled substance for sales. It was also determined that Anaya was a previously deported felon and Immigration and Customs Enforcement was contacted.
Anaya was transported and booked at the Sheriffs Department’s Porterville substation on the listed charges and is being held in lieu of $50,000.00 bail. He has a hold issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Suspect arrested in Grand Theft
LOCATION:  11800 Block of Road 224          DATE:  09-06-2011          TIME:  1007 hrs

On 9-6-2011 the victim reported an unknown person broke into three storage sheds and stole video camera’s and DVR’s. Evidence at the scene indicated the suspect utilized a bicycle and small trailer during the theft.

 

While investigating the theft, Detectives located a subject riding a bicycle with a small trailer in tow on highway 190 near Lake Success. A traffic stop was conducted and the subject was contacted. The subject was found to be in possession of the stolen video equipment and camera’s. The subject was arrested and booked at the Porterville substation for burglary, grand theft and possession of stolen property.

UPDATE:
The victim has been identified as Cesar Ramirez, age 39 of Hayward, California.  Ramirez was staying on the property where the crime occurred although he is listed as a resident of Hayward, California. 

Numerous shots were heard when a call was made to 911.  Ramirez was located in the grow site he was tending. The grow site had approximately 316 plants. The property was being rented for this grow site and there were additional separate grow sites on the property.

The Sheriff's Office is looking for two subjects who may have information on the case and were last seen leaving the area on Road 64 and Avenue 384.  They were last seen in a black 2004-2005 Dodge pickup truck, four doors with stock body.

The first person was identified by the name of Gregorio, with an unknown last name.  He was also known as "Goyo" or "Gollo".  He is a hispanic, male, adult  approximately 38 years of age with a medium build of 5' 9", black hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing a white long sleeve shirt, blue-green jeans and boots.

The second person was identified by a nickname of "Toricato".  He is a Hispanic, male, adult approximately 25-27 years of age with a medium build of 5' 6", black hair and brown eyes and moustache. He was last seen wearing a black baseball cap with a logo, blue t-shirt, blue jeans and white shoes with a black stripe.

An autopsy is scheduled for Ramirez on Wednesday, September 7th, 2011.  Additional information will be released after the autopsy is completed. 

PRIOR RELEASE:
On 09-05-11 approx 1545 hrs Tulare County Sheriff Department received a 911 call reporting a shooting at the above listed location. Deputies arrived on scene to find a victim of a gun shot wound.  The victim succumbed to injuries on scene. Case is still under investigation.

On 09-02-2011, Deputies with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to a residence west of the City of Tulare regarding an elderly subject located inside his residence. Upon arrival it was determined that the victim had been restrained and his home ransacked. The victim was transported to the Kaweah Delta Hospital where he is currently being treated for non life threatening injuries.

Detectives of the Investigation Bureau responded to the crime scene and took over the investigation.

On 09-02-2011 at 0235, (V-1) Lopez was driving northbound on Road 104, in his silver Honda civic, when he approached the intersection at Road 104 and Avenue 400. Lopez stated two unknown suspects came from the shadows of the intersection and pointed what he believed were handguns at him and (V-2) J. Lopez. Lopez stated the suspects ordered them out of the vehicle and they complied.

The suspects took control of the vehicle and drove northbound on Road 104. Lopez lost sight of the suspect and could not provide any further information.
