On the above date and time Deputies were dispatched to the area of Rd. 126 and Ave 416, Orosi in regards to a gunshot victim. The victim stated unknown person(s) fired several rounds at him while he was walking northbound on Rd 128 just south of Ave 416.  The victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was airlifted to a Fresno Hospital, where he was treated for his wounds.  The victim remained hospitalized for observation.

On 03-14-13 at approximately 1730 hours, deputies responded to the 1000 block of East Date, Porterville in regards to a burglary. Upon contacting the victim, he stated two unknown male juveniles, had entered his residence while he was sleeping. The Juveniles removed property from the residence with an estimated loss of $1,000. $400 of the property was recovered and returned to the victim.

The two male juveniles, who are not being named due to their ages, were contacted at their residences. The 15 year old juvenile attempted to hide a backpack, after he saw a Sheriff’s Deputy at his residence. The backpack contained a sawed off shotgun. Both Juveniles were arrested and booked at the Juvenile Detention Facility.

On 3-13-13 Deputies from Tulare County Sheriff=s Department arrested two Juveniles for Burglary to a residence in Alpaugh. The suspects stole items and caused damage totaling $1100. They were booked into Tulare County Juvenile Hall without incident.

On 3/10/13 Orosi Patrol Deputies responded to the Orosi Mc Donald’s Restaurant regarding a robbery.

South End Detectives also responded and found that an unknown masked male entered the restaurant at approximately 0600 hours armed with an unknown type handgun and demanded money from the cashier.  The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot.  No one was injured during the incident.

On 3/9/13 Porterville Patrol Deputies responded to the Terra Bella area regarding a report of a subject suffering from a gunshot wound.

South End Detectives also responded and found that unknown suspects shot the victim as he walked down the road in the town of Terra Bella.  The suspect(s) fled in an unknown vehicle in and unknown direction of travel. 

As a result of the shooting the victim sustained non life threatening injuries and is being treated at a local hospital.

On the above date and time deputies responded to the above location on a warrant service for the suspect, Laura Eleanor Fernandez. The active warrant was for Grand Theft . Upon arrival deputies contacted the suspect. Fernandez was also found to display signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Fernandez was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be Methamphetamine.

Suspect was arrested and transported to the Tulare County Bob Wiley Detention Facility.

Members of the Tulare County Sheriff's Department North End Gang Violence Suppression Unit contacted a known Sureno gang member from the South Side Kings gang in the 15800 block of Avenue 327 in Ivanhoe. Detectives contacted Jose Rivera, (21) and knew him to be on felony probation for gang violence and searched the residence that was linked to him. During the search of the residence, a .22 caliber handgun was located in Rivera’s room. Rivera was arrested and booked at the main jail for being convicted felon in possession of a firearm, violation of a gang injunction and being a member of a criminal street gang. This case is currently under investigation by the North End Gang Violence Suppression Unit.

In an unrelated incident, Gang Detectives contacted Isaul Loza (26) and Alejandro Loza (27) after hearing gun shots in an orchard north of Ivanhoe. Detectives observed a truck leaving the orchard and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle on Ave 332 and Rd 160.  Subsequent investigation found two hand guns in the vehicle and numerous spent shell casings. Both subjects were charged with Negligent Discharge of a Firearm as well as possession of concealed weapons in a vehicle.  This case is still under investigation by the North End Gang Violence Suppression Unit. 

Suspect: Valentine Diaz

On 3-9-2013 at approximately 1124 hours, Deputies from the Orosi Substation responded to a location at the 47000 block of Road 128 regarding a reported detonation of an explosive device. Upon arrival, Deputies located the scene and remains of the materials used. Deputies also contacted the victim in the ER of the Adventist Medical Center in the City of Reedley. The victim stated a homemade chemical bomb detonated in the hand of a co-worker, Valentine Diaz, causing injury to his and Diaz eyes.

The case is currently under investigation by the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office.

On above date and time a Deputy from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Department was patrolling the community of London when he observed Polino riding a bicycle without headlamp.  As the Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop, Polino failed to yield by driving his away from the traffic stop.   

After a short pursuit, the Deputy observed Polino attempt to dispose of a firearm and took him into custody. In addition, Polino was found to be in possession of controlled substance and he was also observed to be under the influence of a controlled substance.  Polino was booked into the Tulare County Main Jail without further incident.

On the above date and time Deputies responded to the above location regarding an armed robbery that had just occurred.  Upon arrival Deputies learned that an armed suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun, ordered the victim to open the registers and took an undisclosed amount of cash.  The suspect then fled the scene on foot.
Sheriff’s Detectives responded to the scene and, through investigation, served a search warrant at a nearby residence on Claremont Rd.  At that location Detectives seized evidence in further of the robbery investigation as well as discovering a concentrated cannabis lab.  Sheriff’s STEP Detectives were contacted and responded to investigate the concentrated cannabis lab.

This case is currently under active investigation by Tulare County Sheriff’s Department Detectives.

Deputies responded to a report of a robbery.  The adult male victim advised he had been driving on Ave 112 in the vicinity of Rd 24 when he was flagged down by an apparent stranded motorist.  The victim stopped and was then robbed by three Hispanic male adults, one armed with a weapon.   The suspects took the victim's wallet with approx. $900. cash, and a gold necklace. The suspects then fled the scene in the car which had appeared to be broken down.  The victim was not injured.  This case is currently being investigated by the Tulare County Sheriff's Department.

On 1/12/13 0522 hrs Deputies from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office responded to an alley behind the 12700 block of Ave 416 in Orosi regarding an attempted armed robbery. Deputies contacted the victim who reported unknown persons(s) attempted to take his wallet at gun point. The victim was shot during the incident and sustained moderate injuries to his person. During the course of the investigation Detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Unit conducted a search warrant at the 41200 block of Rd 130 in Orosi and arrested a male identified as Adonis Zavala. Between 2-27-13 at approx. 1600 hrs. and 2-28-13 at approx. 0900 hrs. unknown suspects gained access to the victims residence and barn by unknown means during which time they removed property resulting in a $45,000.00 loss.
